I have a problem with burning a set of DVDs from my hard drive to a blank DVD-5 (4.7 GB).

Software (all latest versions, downloaded within 10 days ago):
DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 to decrypt and
DVD Shrink Latest version to burn (or create image and burn with DVD Decrypter) and select parts of dvd
(+ tried to use Nero and DVD Shrink itself to burn)

Hardware:
LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1H LL0A
Athlon 64 X2 4600+
Corsair 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 DIMM (MPN: VS1GB667D2)
GigaByte GA-M61PM-S2 Motherboard
WD Caviar SE16 500GB Hard Drive

Blank DVD Media:
Vertbatim Data Life Plus DVD-R (Disc ID: MCC 03RG20) (Speeds: 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x)

I am able to rip the DVD to my hdd and watch it from there. However when I try to burn the files using DVD Decrypter it fails with the Error log below. This is really weird! And just as a check I've ripped and burnt a DVD from another place --- that worked fine. It must be something about the place where I got those DVDs... extra protection I guess (but it let's me copy to hard drive? strange). This happened with the three of the DVDs from that badge. I haven't tried more as I've already wasted enough blank DVDs on this. I've also tried nero, creating an image and burning it... nothing seems to work, it always fails in about the same place with around 10% of the burning done. The main error is: W 20:50:05 Failed to Write Sectors 201760 - 201791 - Write Error. I suspect that there is still some protection left in the files preventing the burning software to copy the files/image. Should I use some other software, like DVDFab Decryptor and ImgBurn? I've also seen a lot of decryption options in DVD Decryptor, perhaps I could enable something to strip the protection that's still left over? Could it be something to do with my burner or the media? Is there a way to diagnose my burner (some program)?

I've also tried creating an image with DVD Decrypter and playing it with Daemon Tools. Everything works fine. Basically everything works fine every time, except when trying to burn a dvd!

I've also just tried DVDFab Decryptor on the dvd files on my hard drive, then created an image with ImgBurn and then burned the image with ImgBurn. The first movie burned successfully, but the second one failed using the same method. I tried three blank dvds and for each attempted burn the error message about the failure to write some sectors ("Failed to Write Sectors xxxxx - yyyyy - Command Sequence Error") had different sectors in it! Is it possible for copy protection to do that? Otherwise it leads me to believe there is something wrong with my DVD drive (I just had it replaced under warrantee 3 months ago too!). And I thought it was a good one! If it IS my DVD drive, any recommendation for the best one to get instead?

Last night I think I've almost figured it out. I can burn ONE dvd image when I just turn on my machine. The subsequent one fails. I turned off the computer for 30 seconds and it failed again. When I turned of my machine for about 10 minutes I could burn an a dvd again! So, my conclusion, is that there is something to do with heating up of the burner or some other factor that is to do with the time of operation.... I think I will get another burner, but I'd like to know for sure, what is the cause of the failures.

Please help!
