Hello, I'm wondering if there are any programs like "Ashampoo Movie Shrink & Burn 2" that would compress all the files you tell it to so it would fit on a dvd. I've tried the trial for both my Vista computers, and after trying to compress a certain amount of files/size to fit on a DVD, it would say a buffer over-run error. I'm not sure if it's compatible with Vista since it says it's for XP/2000

It's really a handy program to convert many files at once rather than doing one by one versions to fit videos into a dvd.

Hi!

Try the easy-to-use freeware, "DVDFlick"...

I just tried that program right now, and I don't think it's similar to what i'm looking for.

Say I have 10 avi files such as anime that exceeds the 4.47 GB DVD and I wanted to burn it to store it. That ashampoo program would take all the files and compress each video equally to make sure it fit into the one DVD.

I'm just looking for something similar like that program since I want to burn video files to save space and I'm not so sure if it works on Vista since it buffer errors after a hour of compressing and encoding.

Here is the link to that program.

You originally spoke of:...a handy program to convert many files at once rather than doing one by one versions to fit videos into a dvd., which led me to believe you wanted to convert your files to DVD-compatible format.

If I understand correctly, you are actually speaking of simply burning your .AVIs to DVD AS .AVIs, without conversion. If so, just burn them as a "data DVD".

Making the files smaller (usually accomplished by reducing bitrate) will usually result in poor video quality.

If you wanted smaller .AVIs to start with, you should have used a reduced bitrate when you originally created the anime .AVIs. the methodology for doing this varies with software used.

What software and procedures did you use when you originally created the anime .AVIs (presumably from DVDs)?

Or you could just use a dual layer disc. That fixes everything.
