Hi, I am new to this so be nice. When I covert Nstc 23fps to Pal using Favc program the picture is less jerky. When I try to convert Nstc 29fps to Pal the picture is very jerky. Any suggestions on how I can achieve a smoother motion picture coverting Nstc avi's to Pal I would be greatful.:thanks:

I don't know what FAVC is doing internally.
Is your video pure interlaced or is it 3:2 pulled down (telecined)? If it is the latter, you can IVTC it back to 23.976 and then apply DGPullown to up it to PAL rate. Your audio will not have to be touched.
Have you tried manual conversions using Avisynth methods?

They Nstc avi 29.97fps files I tried to convert to pal 25fps with both Favc and dvdforger programs I've had the same result the video motion was very slow and jerky, they are both very good programs because when I converted a nstc avi file that was 23.fps to pal there was no jerkyness in the picture motion. I tried another program procoder3 that handled 29.97fps almost prefect the only thing is you cannot make a root menu and you cannot add more than one avi at a time.

I don't know how to do that. Can you tell me if there is a guide on how to use avisynth? Can you change the nstc avi thats 29.97 to 23fps? if so will the avi lose quality?

I'll ask again... Is it telecined (3:2 pulldown) or pure interlaced? You have to answer our questions, friend, if you want us to help you. If you don't know what something means, then say so; it's the only way you'll ever learn.
