Hi!
Although both are likely due to copy protection (Perhaps the same type as was used on the German release, "Das Parfum"), have you PLAYED the original DVD on your PC, to make certain you don't have a flawed DVD?
Post a list of ALL filenames and filesizes included on the original DVDs.
Try the following:
1) Reboot your system
2) BEFORE loading the DVD, try FIRST starting RipIt4Me and selecting either "Wizard" or "One-click" mode - and THEN load the DVD
rudy35
18th September 2007, 23:09
Here's what I tried:
1. Played DVD in both Power DVd and WinDVD- No problems! Plays Fine!
2. Rebooted pc-opened ripit4me-one click option-Full DVD-ripit4me shuts down after tring to read dvd-tried different drive-same results:
Can't post log..to many characters!

@rudy35
Although it may or may not yield any useful information, I asked that you, "Post a list of ALL filenames and filesizes included on the original DVDs", not to post the RipIt4Me log...

1) Couldn't help but notice the MAC-related ".DS_Store" files. Is this an Original, Commercial DVD or "something else"?
2) When you ran RipIt4Me and then loaded the DVD, did RipIt4Me generate a notification that it had pre-empted the running of an Autorun file?

Yes this is a commercial..region 1..store bought dvd. As far as ripit..then only this i could do was..open software..choose one click..drive letter...reading ifo's...and then comepletely shutdown...no autorun notification.

I believe this is the type of copy protection I speculated about earlier.
If I remember correctly (although I may be wrong - It's an age thing ;>}), both AnyDVD and DVDFab
HD Decrypter (try the very latest beta version of DVDFab HD Decrypter, that supposedly uses a new technology of tracing actual playback) are supposed to be capable of handling this...

Worst case it took 4 hrs. to rip manually. it looks like it will be a little bit of work to square up, though I'm sure those who know alot more than me about ifo's and vobs could breeze through it
the major area's were
vts_02_1 - 2063 block errors over about 64mb
vts_02_5 - 2124 block errors - most of vts , 1:09 end of movie
vts's 05, 07, 08, 09, - garbage
vts 03, 04 splash screens
vts 10, 11 good
vts 12 complete garbage - aborted after 16,000,000 errors (run by so fast can't see
disk is 7.2gb

The last I heard the DVD, Blade - House of Chthon, is on its way to Slysoft HQ. Along with the other DVDs with new protections. That is why they have not released a new version combating these problems.
setarip_old
27th September 2007, 07:37
Although I'm sure Slysoft will eventually come up with its own solution (and that really all that counts), I doubt that shipping/mailing/FedEx, etc. from the US (R1) to Antigua (one of the Caribbean islands off the coast of the Americas) is slower than shipping to Germany or mainland China - unless, of course, Slysoft, for some reason, first became aware of this protection much later than those who have already provided solutions...

Whatever the cause, they'll have a release out soon. You can always count on them.
SamuriHL
27th September 2007, 19:42
Maybe they get them in China quicker because that's where they're made? :D Slysoft will get an update out sometime this week. Give them time. It's also possible they're working on their new feature to AnyDVD, as well. I will admit that this is definitely unusually long in terms of an update. Blade has been out for a week and 2 days now. But if they're working on several new protections at once it could take them a bit longer.

It may very well be that the ENTIRETY of possible "Junior-type protection" combinations may have already been proven to be futile...

Also of note is that there's a new beta for DVDFab 3.2.0.5 but unfortunately some people are experiencing some issues with it. All of the bugs found in 3.1.9.5 beta and 3.2.0.0 have been fixed, however. FengTao made it so that PathPlayer is only used when the regular ripping function has found an error which should speed things up quite a bit. Once this version fixes the new bugs that have been found, this will be a great solution for people, as well. It handles Blade HoC and Full of It with no problems.
