Subtitles dont work

Hi, Im trying to encode a few videos with subtitles.

I have the srt files the audio files and the video files.

I then tried muxing them all with mkvmerge.

If I dont have directvobsub installed the files play fine with no subs.

If I install directvobsub the file opens and wont play. Just sits at the very begining with a black screen. directvobsub shows that there is a subtitles in the file.

What am I doing wrong?

you probably need the haali splitter or something similar
...or keep the subtitle separate and give it the same name as the movie, that's the way I do it.

Thanks for the info. Ill try it seperate from the video. I do have the splitter and everything else installed.
