View Full Version : Quicktime Alternative + MPC AAC problems

Without Quicktime (alternative or regular) installed, I'm able to get MPC to play mov files with AAC sound perfectly (using CoreAVC and CoreAAC). My receiver is getting the signal as ac3 and everything (using ac3filter).

But as soon as I install Quicktime Alternative, it hijacks the codecs and sends PCM signals to my receiver. I can't even see which filters it's using in MPC.

Is there a way around this? I want to use MPC for mov files, but also be able to download trailers and/or watch embedded mov files in a browser.

Thanks in advance. :)

Have you check the System tab in AC3Filter Configuration? I dont know if it would help though.

In MPC options, on the formats page, scroll down to QuickTime file. Behind it you'll see 'QuickTime', click on that and change it to 'DirectShow'.
