When I try to use Decrypter I get the error message "Failed to set data for 'DVD Decrypter Play DVD Movie On Arrival'" What is it looking for?

Hi!
1) What version of DVD Decrypter are you using?
2) What step are you trying to perform (Selecting the drive containing the DVD to be ripped, selecting the folder/directory for the ripped files to be written to, or selecting the "start ripping" process)?

I'm using 3.5.4.0 The message comes up when I go into Decrypter either direct or from RipIt4Me (1 click mode) I've used this version and combination on my previous computer. I've got a new computer, downloaded the programs and now I can't get the system to work.

Are you using Windows Vista now? If so, first my sincere condolences. Second, it looks like DVD Decrypter can't register its autoplay handler. If the program doesn't start at all to let you disable that, you have to edit the registry manually. Under HKCU\Software\DVD Decrypter change the value of every entry that starts with REGISTRY_ to zero, maybe than it works.

Sorry I took so long getting back. I first had to get a crash course on what HKCU ....registry was. I got it and got the entries changed to zero. I started at the top than realized I was at the wrong place so I zeroed some things that shouldn't have. Anyway the error message is gone. Things still aren't working right but right now I can't define what's wrong except at one point Shrink (backup) caused my whole computer to sieze up and I had to shut it off regain control. Right now the problem is that there are too many variables to be able to define where a problem originates. I'll keep plugging away and ask for help when I can point at a specific problem. In the meantime my XP continues to chunk away even if a bit inconviently,
Thanks again for your help

Hopefully this is a close out message on this subject.
I've now got Shrink, Decrypter, Roxio and RipIt4Me all working together with Vista. While I haven't had to use it, I've also downloaded DVD Fab HD. Thanks guys.
