I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to increase the bitrate of an AC3 file?
I am putting together a video made up of short segments from a number of dvds. I have demuxed the streams and am using Cuttermaran to cut and compile the segments without reencoding. So far so good. The problem comes when authoring the new DVD. Some of the source dvds have different bitrates for the audio track, whereas DVD requires CBR.
I am hoping to avoid reencoding the audio to avoid DRC and dialog normalisation issues. It seems the simplest way would be to raise the bitrate of the AC3 files so they are all equal. I am sure it is theoretically possible but do not know of any tool that can do it.
