I currently have the Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive and hook it up to my computer using USB. It works great, and I haven't failed to get a key yet (we'll see how things go). But from what I've read, Blu-Ray has nothing like this avaliable.
I know some Blu-Ray standalones will be used as media centres, I was wondering if you could mount them over the network and get access to the files that way (even if it would take forever to rip)?
I was originally going to get a PS3, and use that to rip Blu-Ray, but I've seen everyone saying there are quite a few limitations, and with the hypervisor you can't access the drive directly from Linux.
Is my only real option a PC drive at this point? Any advice or tips would be great. Thanks a lot!
PS: Thanks to this forum I was finally able to figure out how to rip my HD-DVDs and make amazing looking x264 rips of them. Thanks a lot guys!
