Hi,
I'm trying to use Avisynt to open a video like this
container: asf video: vc1 audio:wmav2
I get errors using DirectShowSource on a XP machine but I can read it on another Vista machine.
is there some codec to download?
I triggered on ffdshow the sage of wm9 or libavcodec but it doesn't work the same.
thanks in advance
bye

Try FFMPEG source. Its frame accurate and work well with VC1 in my experience.

Hi thanks,
that's exactly what I did but then I noticed AV sync problems so I wanted to use DirectShowSource but it seems that on XP you can't even play that video on WIndows Media Player!
Ant this should be a microsoft codec!!!!

Are you perhaps missing these (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/format/codecdownload.aspx)?
VC-1 was released quite some time after Windows XP, after all...
(Disclaimer: I think WMV9 and VC-1 are closely related, but I wouldn't be surprised if you'd have to actually install WMP11 to get VC-1 to play on Windows XP...)

Thanks,
I can play now opening directly the file but not through an avs with DirectShowSource.
I tried to put in ffdshow settings : disabled, libavcodec, wm9 but none of them succeed, I keep on getting :
"The source filter for this file could not be loaded"
thanks again for the answer
