View Full Version : Different results from copy+paste, input/output

VirtualDub (1.6.19) lets you copy frames to clipboard, either from the input (before filtering) or from the output (after filtering).

I've just been using this facility, and it seems I get different results if I copy from the output instead of the input. The source is an AVS script which outputs as RGB24. Copying from the input and pasting into Photoshop results in a slightly darker picture than copying from the output. Here's an example:

The levels have been boosted to make the problem obvious. On the right is the image copied from the input, and on the left is the image as copied from output (which matches what VirtualDub shows on screen).

I've got no filters loaded, so can anyone explain what's happening?

Thanks,
David

PS Sorry if you read this thread before I edited, but I was getting myself confused.
