I have a HDDVD with a DTS-HD track, and I'm trying to transcode it to a higher bitrate AC3 file than was included. I use tranzcode to output the core DTS stream to mono WAVs, then use BeSweet with a *.mux file to encode the AC3. The problem is that the outputted AC3 file suffers from occasional pops clicks and blips, what you'd expect from a shitty MP3. Here's the code from tranzcode:

Input attribs: [5.1 ch, 16 bit, 48.0 kHz, bitrate 1536 kbps]
Output attribs: [PCM wav fmt, (6) x 1 ch, 32 bit flt, 48.0 kHz]

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced the same problem, or if anyone can suggest a workaround/alternative method. Thanks.

DONT use Besweet to encode AC3 ´
Its a low Quality encoder

Use "Aften" or a cert Dolby Encoder ( older Softencode or newer Sony Vegas,Steinberg DD encoder) but not ac3enc.dll

You can use Tranzcode to decode one 5.1 Wave from dtshd

Tranzcode.exe youraudio.dts /mch

Feed Aften with the 5.1 wave to encode AC3 640kbps (-31db DialogNorm. DRC Off)

I'm still getting a few random blips using aften and a multichannel wave. is there a program I can use to play the multichannel wave back to see if its Aften or tranzcode creating the artifacts?
