Hi

A funny thing happened with Vdub 1.16 ... original video source is interlaced BFF DV [using the avisynth/vdub method of telling eg watching the individual effect of each of separatefields().AssumeTFF() and then separatefields().AssumeBFF()].

But when I select some frames from the raw avi, choose "Direct Stream Copy" under Video, then do "Save as AVI" it did something to the video so the saved avi is un-interlaced...

What tool do you use to select and "copy" some interlaced frames into a new AVI for posting a test "cut" ?

Original post under http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1030868#post1030868 however this is probably the appropriate forum.

I never heard of VirtualDub 1.16. Anyway, it works fine for me, so you must have goofed up, or the original content is actually progressive.

What tool do you use to select and "copy" some interlaced frames into a new AVI for posting a test "cut" ? VirtualDub 1.6.19 and Direct Stream Copy.

Oops, thanks, yes was it 1.6.19. Call me goofy. Must have goofed somewhere although I did try it twice, with the same result, as pointed out to me by foxyshadis in the original thread on denoising...

Will have another fiddle with it, maybe under options "Preview Field Mode" as set to progressive instead of "field order B" or something, or an option somewhere else... Whatever happened, the output wasn't right.

Cheers

I give up. Tried it again tonight on the same source... and it worked OK producing an interlaced output. Absolutely beats me. At least it works now.
