Need help converting my Fraps videos to x264

hi, i am new here and have a question. i like to record gameplay footage of pc games i play online with fraps and up till now i have always encoded them to .wmv format with windows movie maker but i am not happy with the quality of the outputted video i get after i encode it to .wmv format.

it always comes out dark and pixely even when i encode it using the high quality ntsc setting.

anyways someone suggested to me that i should try encoding my videos to x264 but i have never attempted this.

can somebody teach me how please.any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Try this tool (http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=533349) if you want something simple: I made it specifically for EVE Online FRAPS videos but it will work for basically anything. If you want something more complex but customizable try MeGUI. And if you want full control over everything do it yourself using the command-line.
