Hi, I'm new here and I was wondering if someone could help with this, I have a lot of ogm files (it actual says ogg) and would like to convert them to avi or mpeg, can anyone help? Like write step by step of how to convert and what programs and codecs used? I tried everything, from OGM to Avi and Avi2DVD and AlltoDvd but none of them work, it always gives me error msgs.
I used VirtualDubMod but the output has not audio only the picture, please help? I really need to convert them and save them to a DVD as files and create more space of my hard disk.
Thanks for any help!!

First of all Welcome to the Forum
you missed one of the better AviDemux! (search it on these forum), it has a wide support of container and codec

I downloaded Avidemux and it's really confusing, there's so many functions that I don't know which one to choose! Does it convert from Ogm to Avi? Can you show me how to convert?
Thanks a lot!

If all you want is ogm to avi, you load it, choose avi as the format on the left, leave video on copy, and chose mp3 for audio. (If the video already has mp3 audio, you can copy it too, but almost all ogms have ogg vorbis.)
For mpeg, you need to choose VCD, SVCD, or DVD as the video codec, MP2 or AC3 as the audio (VCD can only have MP2), and MPEG-PS as the container. VCD+MP2 is the standard old .mpg video. (Alternately, you can convert to avi as above, then load it into tmpgenc.)

I followed exactly what you and after it has converted, I clicked on the episode and it's not opening can you write the steps again and explain better and tell me what to do? I tried and it's not working.
Thanks again and I hope that this is alright!

Make sure you add an extension to the file when you convert it e.g. abc.avi/abc.mpg or rename the file after its converted adding .avi/.mpg at the end.
