I'm trying to encode an xvid video from a dvd using xmpeg. I've been able to do it before, but, I recently installed the latest stable versions, and I can no longer encode my dvds. I get the error "statsfile not found" when I try to encode the video. I've tried to using the 5.2 version of xmpeg, but I still get the same error. This has lead me to believe that there is a problem with XviD 1.1.3. Is there any way I can get this working again?

Thanks,
freddy

It should be a simple matter of opening the Xvid settings for both first and second pass and clicking Ok for each (At least it's been my experience that apps such as Gordian Knot will have identical problems until this is done).

I figured out that the only time I don't get the statsfile error is the first time I encode the movie after I reinstall the codec.

It turns out that that was just a freak occurrence. I still get stats file not found whenever I try to encode something.

Xmpeg is more than 3 years old now, great programme but very outdated. Supposedly a new version is coming but they have been saying that for 2 years!

I just tried encoding using DVDx, and it did not work either. I am convinced this is a problem with XviD. I tried clicking okay to all the settings in XviD, and I've modified most of the settings. Is there any way to fix this, or do I have to try another codec?
