Mkv -> Mp4 ?

I have MKV videos in 1080p and they will not play in Nero Showtime using hardware acceleration taking advandage of my video card.

I am assuming it's because of the container, as I have been able to play 1080p MP4 in Nero Showtime just fine.

I want to test this out by converting the video in the MKV container to MP4
Are there any tools for conversion? Or what about muxers and demuxers? I am sort of familiar with mp4box to mux the MP4, but have no idea how to demux the Matroska file.

Try a recent http://www.avidemux.org/ SVN snapshot. You can find windows builds here: http://mulder.dummwiedeutsch.de/home/?page=projects#avidemux

you can try mkvextract to extract the audio and video from the MKV file and then use MP4Box or mp4creator to wrap them in the MP4 container...
