I just found out that plugging a pc that runs MPlayer or PowerDVD with deinterlace turned on to my projector through a VGA cable produces clearly superior picture in terms of sharpness and fluidity. The problem is it's not so friendly to use and the setup cost is quite a bit (sound card, faster CPU, remote control, etc.) Are there any DVD players have what I need? Thanks.

Helios H4000 has what I need. Amazon as it for $140. Best thing about it is it implements 1080p on component video in addition to HDMI, and 1080i on VGA. That's perfect for my project which doesn't have HDMI but has the other 2.
