EVO to MKV quality?

if i take a evo and in graphedit
(video) haali media splitter -> Haali Matroska Muxer
will this give me the same exact quality except mkv instead of evo. im a bit confused by this. thank for any help

of course the quality will remain the same since your video and audio signals are not reencoded at all. They are only extracted from one container format and multiplexed into another one.

whats would be the best way to do the audio. looking to get ac3 out of dd+. also if i want to reencode the video to a smaller size would i do this before or after convert to mkv. any guides on this would be helpful. thanks for any help/input.
