VC1 Muxing

I want to know which container support VC1(Video) stream.

That's the thing behind VC-1 according to M$. They don't want it to be specific to one container.

Yes, ASF (WMV) does contain it, but according to M$, they want to go "beyond" that. They do mention the MP4 container, but also talk about network and transport streams as well.

So far, there is no one "standard" container for VC-1 and I don't think it's intended to have one.

Although MKV will be able to handle it, and may be fine for our purposes here in this forum, I personally think MKV is far from being any "standard" according to the big M, especially for professional and commercial distribution unfortunately.

HD-DVD uses evob (basically mpeg-ps), while Blu-Ray uses mpeg-ts. Both have no problems storing vc-1 video. So you have WMV, MKV, mpeg-ps and mpeg-ts.

mp4 has private streams, so it would be possible to use that and create a sort of semi-standard to put vc-1 into mp4 (like Nero has done for vobsubs).

Considering all that, vc-1 is quite container agnostic.

The use of VC-1 in ISO Base Media Format compatible files is registered at http://www.mp4ra.org/ by the SMPTE.
Nero could register vobsub and AC-3 too.
