Interleave(audio clip) returns an audio clip

Interleave seems not to care if passed an audio only clip. Confusing? :)

Well, most filters don't complain, but just passes through the audio.

My twisted brain thought that a function that processes frame data (field data) would, when finding such things absent, complain fiercely. I don't believe it should be a requirment, it just struct me strange. :)Thanks for the reply.
