first of all i am just wondering how do i fix an asynch svcd mpg file???? I encoded the video with cce then the audio with toolame via tmpenc. I muxed the audio and video together using bbmpeg, demuxed them using tmpgenc and remuxed them again using bbmpeg. Your probably thinking why the hell would someone want to do that but I heard this was the a way to get a svcd compliant mpg file which will be recognised by vcdimager. In a previous post I have already asked a question about it so I ain't asking it again. Just know for the facts that i muxed the audio and video with bbmpeg, demuxed them using tmpenc and remuxed them again using bbmpeg. I made the bin files using vcdimager and burnt the bin file on to a cdrw. The movie did play fine on my dvd player however the audio and video are out of synch. Does anyone know why this happened???? has it got anything to do with downsampling the audio from 48khz to 44.1khz???
another thing is that during the creation of the bin file, i wanted to make chapters so i followed the doom9 guide in order to create these chapters. when i burnt bin file and played it on my dvd player it had no chapters at all!! anyone know why this occured???
i have been reading posts about switchable subs, so I just want a confirmation that i-author is not the only program that can do this right?? the sub program is dvd2svcd can do it also right???? does dvd2svcd allow for creation of menus on the svcd??? thanks for any replies

I have a Philips player that does that out of sync thingy with 29.97 svcds, 23.976+pulldown work fine though... It's just another example of players not fully supporting the svcd standard....
Yes submux which comes with dvd2svcd can mux svcd or cvd(i-author style) subtitles into an mpg. No dvd2svcd doesnt help you create menus, but you could use it to create the mpg and either write the xml or use tscv to do them...
And what do you mean by "it had no chapters at all"? When you push the next/prev buttons nothing happens? If thats the case its very possible your player doesnt support pbc with svcds...

lol! lol! lol! Somebody is kidding with you. There is no reason to do this if you are using vcdimager. However, using Iauthor, you will need to "mux the audio and video together using bbmpeg, demuxed them using tmpgenc and remuxed them again using Iauthor muxer, but only if you need to make entry points, which are used by Iauthor while making chapters.
about async issues, have a look at here (http://rilanparty.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8039). It seems that Toshiba is not so sharp with SVCD.

I-Author generates out-of-sync sequences after about 40 minutes.
My guess is that his problem results from the final mastering process. This is pretty much trial and error.
Try Nero, VCDIMAGER, bbMPEG muxing, TMPGenc, NTI CD-Maker - essentially any7thing you get for free or as a trial version. You're bound to come up with something that works.
