Hi,
Is there a way to see the menu and FBI warning VTSs in Preview/Edit? I'd like to lower the Menu bitrate and blank the other thing. I can see them in DVD Shrink but not in RBPro.

As per this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=127315) DVD-RB doesn't have the capability to preview and adjust the VTSM's.

Personally I generally use PgcEdit & VobBlanker to pre-process including menu / copyright warning blanking. Although you wouldn't actually have to use both if you're only blanking.

DVD Remake for me (although its not freeware)

Consider also MenuShrink (http://www.dvdr-digest.com/software/menushrink.html), which makes big bloated menus into tiny stills (with or without audio).

PgcEdit can eliminate the FBIs/promos - cleanup afterwards with VobBlanker or FixVTS.

Assuming your using the DVD-Pro, then just enable the option 'Enable Menu Encoding' and add the following to your rebuilder.ini file

This will encode all menus, regardless of size and also encode all VTS's again regardless of size

VTS_MIN_SIZE=0
VTSM_MIN_SIZE=0

To strip FBI warnings or even cut beginning titles from direct to DVD master tapes, especially very old episode compilations, I use VOB Blanker, which is free and also very good at correcting DVD errors within the DVD command structures

Basically the default settings that VOB Blanker uses are a very good start, and as yet it hasn't screwed any DVDs up I've blanked or messed about with and works great with DVD-RB

Its very easy to use, and makes backups, so if you screw up you don't lose anything

OK. Thanks. I'll try VobBlanker again. I've used it before but don't find it too easy to work with. I've tried PgcEdit before and that really confuses me. I've used Menu Shrink before and that usually worked good. I'll go back to that.

I just set up a backup project for the movie Syrianna, and I took a look in the Main Feature which I don't usually bother to do, and I saw within the first few sections were separate sections for FBI, Rating, and "This movie has been formatted to fit your screen". I blanked them right there. I haven't tried that before. Will see if it worked tomorrow.

I hope jdobbs gives us VTSM-blanking someday so we don't have to use external tools. I have found that if I am given an extra chance to make a mistake, I usually succeed at it! :o
