Trying to demux a subtitle file thats in a vob file. I know it's there since I've played it on Mplayer out on my xbox (via XBMC) and it shows there.

Problem is I can't seem to demux it out of there. I've tried SubRip but it's giving me a "bad packet error at LBA:xx" and the errors just keep coming up one after the other.

Is it corrupt and I can't demux it or something?

I've been trying to demux it then convert it to an srt file to back it up.
I've already gotten the audio and video in an mkv. Now all I need is the subtitles.

:thanks:

Hi!I've been trying to demux it then convert it to an srt file to back it up.Try DVD SubEdit...

BTW - What's the Title and Region of the original, commercial DVD?

Tried that already and it crashes the program.

I made the vob file a while back. I was experimenting with creating a vob file from the episode of a series. I got the subtitles in there and now I just can't get it out.

I put episode 1 of WHR (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=96) in a vob file. I demuxed everything back then and then (re)muxed it back together after re-encoding it just to play around with the different tools of the day.
Honestly, I can't remember how I did it. :p

The DVD is Region 1 (USA).
I've got it somewhere around here in this mess of a room. Since I'm having no luck with this I guess I'll just load that back up and do it again (only this time to a mkv).

Thanks anyway :)

Since I'm having no luck with this I guess I'll just load that back up and do it againYes, that would be the proper thing to do, since most subtitle extraction software is intended to be used with full DVD structure...

If anyone cares I finally got it out. :)

Used EVOdemux found here. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=121535)

Then used DVDSubEdit to convert to srt. Then used Medusa (Chrono Sub) to tune it.

Turns out it was all pretty much in vain see as I had to rip it from the original DVD anyway for other reasons.

Thanks anyway.
