Hi

I authored a dvd with 2 movies and 1 menu in the same VTS using DVD-LAB Studio

One of the movies is SATV frame size and the other is PAL (according to DVD-LAB Studio). The DVD created by Studio plays fine in powerdvd.

After passing it through DVD rebuilder the SATV video has a green bar along one side both in powerdvd and my standalone dvd player. This has happened on 2 of my dvds that contain a mixture of video sizes.

Is there a setting in dvd rebuilder I can change so that it handles the different video sizes?

I have attached a screen shot and the rebuilder.inf (renamed to .txt) from the D2VAVS folder

thanks
paul

The problem is not related to DVD-RB, and this practice (to put titles with different format in the same VTS) is very bad, definitely...

Titles in the same VTS must be homogeneous (same A/R, display format, etc.), otherwise they are not compliant with the DVD-VIDEO specs.

This holds also in the case that what you describe as "SATV video" is an acceptable asset for a DVD-VIDEO... Unfortunately it seems this is not your case; apparently you are trying to author a video asset with an uncompliant resolution (is it something like 544 x 768, right ?)...

In the specific situation, the green bar is most probably produced by the decoder (DgIndex), which is mislead by the unexpected change of frame size in the same title set. I can be very precise in the diagnosis, since I faced a similar problem in an original DVD, intentionally authored with mixed content (704x576 and 720 x 576)... It was done this way, most probably, by mistake (or by purpose, as a protection scheme)...

You will solve your troubles - partially - if you author your DVD placing the two titles in different VTS. Before this, I would say you'd better re-encoding your SATV video to an acceptable resolution (full D1 or half D1).

Cheers,
