Have a Pinnacle PCTV.
Testing MJPEG - but it doesn't capture all the frames (squishes picture with a 2:1 vertical reduction)
Is there a way to turn this off so I get the full capture? My source is digital satellite.
Thx

Which MJPEG codec are you using? Which capture software and settings are you using?

I am using the latest V3.0 from Morgan Multimedia, VirtualDub, and a res 640x480 (which is coming out as 640x240.)
I am using the standard encoding defaults but quality is set from 92-100%. I've tried clicking inverleave in the codec but this didn't change anything.
The results are the same if I use linear reduction 2:1.
Can MJpeg capture at the full res?

The results are the same, regardless of the the 2:1 vertical reduction setting? That's odd. Maybe there's a bug in the codec or another MJPEG decoder on your system. Does the sam thing occur with Huffyuv? Have you tried opening the MJPEG file in VirtualDub, using VirtualDub's extended open options to use VirtualDub's own MJPEG decoding routines?

Every other codec works fine.
So I take it this is not supposed to happen with MJPEG.
Maybe I will uninstall the codec and try another one.

Hi , first of all , i'm french and my english isn't very goog..
you musk keep using mjep codec and try ta make some other test because it's an ecelent codec!!
the mjpeg codec give the same quality as the huffuy and take less size..
you have to make mjepg v3 on 100% forced quality and a debit a 3000ko/s!
i use this codec to capture my dragon ball z tv show and after encoding with vdub , mode 1 pass quality based 70 ou 80 % , i get .avi 50mo and perfect quality
i got the same quality with huffuy but a bigger size (60mo)
look at this site:http://freevcr.ifrance.com/freevcr/index-en.html
bye
