Dear all,
I got good results by changing the following settings regarding CCE :
Instead of a 'multipass VBR', doing 4 or 5 passes, I checked the box 'One pass VBR' and put the Q-factor to 1.
That's it !
It saves a lot of encoding time and you'll still get good results.
Let me know what you think of it (a oneliner will do).....
:D

Sorry, but old news.
DDOGG is a great supporter of 1 pass VBR with a Q of 5 and TS selected.

Qfactor is something created by CCE and it is correlated with the priority between quality and compression. Smaller Q = bigger quality priority. Bigger Q = bigger compression priority. Have a look at CCE's manual.

Considering that the Q factor is a setting between 1 and 100, 1 to 5 is not a big change.

Actualy, Qfactor range is 1-300.

If "Q. Factor" is the same as what "Bitrate Viewer" is showing as "Q. level" then a difference of 1 to 5 is a major one.

They're not the same.

If you set to "VBR One pass" and Q.Factor to 5 ...
... is it the same as if you set it to 4-pass an Q.Factor 17 ?
I mean, ... is the quality the same as the other setting ?
