Does anyone know of a way to play MKV's through vista media center?? I've been trying for weeks with no luck...
thanks for any tips!

I'd guess that Media Center uses DirectShow, so Haali's Media Splitter (http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/) should do the job.
Of course you will need suitable audio/video decoders as well... (e.g. ffdshow-tryouts (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941))

is there a way to scan the MKV's to find out which specific codecs were used??
