I`m using latest RipBot and when making x264 v1.16.0 and when encoding movies to 1280 x 5xx first pass using like no more than 20-30% cpu and second pass no more than 65-80% on my Intel core quad 8300 @3Ghz. I also uncheck that low priority button and still encoding first pass with only 7 fps and second pass 6 fps :(

1. Which profile are you using?
2. Which program shows 20-30% usage?
3. Check your ripbot.ini:

Usex264x64=1

I'll try to find out more next time it crashes like that. It's odd because I was able to do 8 more episodes last night using 1.16.0 with no crashes at all.

Hi Atak, thanks for this great gui.

but after 1.16.0, the new Win7 progress bar function makes it unable to minimize to tray icon in Win7. Is there any way, or an option, to re-enable this? I think tray icon is a good way to prevent closing an app accidentally also keep the taskbar clean. (especially it takes a lot time to encode HD x264 video)

Hi Atak,

i know you can't hear that anymore but i've got the "Gathering Information ..." - Bug since 1.16.0 (even in 1.16.1).
I've tried every step discribed in this thread. Took me a lot of time to find related replies.
So i've deinstalled EVERYTHING what has to do with video-decoding, -encoding or playback. I've enabled and disabled DXVA-Support, tried some Haali - Versions .... Nothing worked for me! So is there a small workaround to avoid that hanging on "Gathering Information..." ?

The Video-Stream is a VC-1 - Stream. Maybe i find a BD with another format to test.

My System:
- ffdshow_3466_clsid 32-bit
- Haali from 20/05/2010
- Avisynth 2.5.8
- Java 6 Update 20

Edit:
- Haali pops up and then disappears on "Gathering Information..."
- RipBot264 1.15.1 still works with every Haali-Version
- want to use 1.16.x cause of DivXPlus - support (owned it)

Hi ,

as you can see , I've posted a similar question to Atak regarding the use of that Cover option..

His answer was a printscreen with 2 pics...

Did you understood what he wanna say ??

Where can we use that option ??
and for what it is ???

I've tried twice to use it , and I don't know HOW to visualize the cover , and what is for ???

Thanks in advance for explanations !!! :thanks:

regards !!

Hi, Has what he explain to me it's for when you browse with windows explorer, normally you see an movie icon, but if you put cover, when you browse you will see the cover or image that you upload.

1. Which profile are you using?
2. Which program shows 20-30% usage?
3. Check your ripbot.ini:

Usex264x64=1

Profile is default which came with RipBot ([HIGH 4.0] HD . BluRay . Consoles), i didn`t change any settings except bitrate to fit on 1 DVD-R and x.x copy stream audio
Usex264x64=1 is in ini also, but i`m using Win 7 32bit.

Program is working very nice, i transcoded some of my movies from 7 GB to 4.7 very nice but it`s so slow :(
I check CPU usage in task Manager. All 4 core are on ~25-35% in first pass and 65% in second

Here is a image, first peak is when pass 1 started and second is when pass 2 start.

The output filename problem.

There is a small issue with swedish characters åäö and ÅÄÖ they become something else when the file is muxed. I believe it has something to do with utf-8. Since the filename is correct in MuxFiles.cmd

Then the output removes "." lets say i have an episode of 24 and i'd like to call it 24 - S01E01 - 12.00AM - 1.00AM it becomes 24 - S01E01 - 12 00AM - 1 00AM.
"F:\Progs\RipBot264v1.15.1\tools\mkvtoolnix\mkvmerge.exe" -o
"C:\Users\Trayman\Desktop\24S01E01 - 12 00AM - 1 00AM.mkv" --title "24S01E01 - 12 00AM - 1 00AM"
--default-duration 0:25fps -d 0 -A -S
"F:\temp\RipBot264temp\video.264" --language
0:und --sync 0:0 -a 0 -D -S "F:\temp\RipBot264temp\job18\job18 T80 2_0ch 192Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3"
--chapters "F:\temp\RipBot264temp\job18\chapters.txt"

this is possible to fix by editing the MuxFiles.cmd and then mux manually but it's not optimal.

Is it common or not?Version 1.16.0 gave me an oversized encode too. It was around 3mb or 4mb larger than the target which was DVD5.

Since then I started to lock the size subtracting 10mb from the desired size just to be safe. You should do that and post again if it still outputs oversized encodes.

I have the same problem with german characters. For example I want to rip a file to "Kannibalen auf Föhr.mkv", the output file will be "Kannibalen auf F÷hr.mkv". I think this is not caused by mkvtoolnix, when I manually mux the file, the filename is correct as I set it (no ÷ for ö).

Hi Atak, I'm having a repeat of the problem described previously here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1361387#post1361387

I don't know why it happens randomly but now I'm just adding one project to the queue and ripbot says NO AUDIO in the settings.

I have this issue only when I try to compress videos from my canon ixus photo camera, which records avi MJPEG video and mono pcm audio. From any other video format ripbot loads the audio track correctly.

Mediainfo reports this from the audio track
Audio
Format : PCM
Format settings, Endianness : Little
Format settings, Sign : Unsigned
Codec ID : 1
Codec ID/Hint : Microsoft
Duration : 1s 700ms
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 705.6 Kbps
Channel(s) : 1 channel
Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz
Resolution : 16 bits
Stream size : 146 KiB (5%)
Interleave, duration : 46 ms (1.38 video frame)
Interleave, preload duration : 500 ms

And you can download a 50 fps sample to test by yourself here http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?qewmnzykko2

In the past I have run other software to play and compress this kind of videos, like virtualdub or autogk with no problems, so I guess it may be a little bug in your software or maybe in ffdshow or any other part parameters.

Thank you very much

I second that. That would be brilliant.

I know this is old but I don't think it's mean addressed. The original request was for an option to add the AC3 track as a second audio track in the finished MP4 file.

Is that possible so that the files are both compiled for Apple and still leave the AC3 track for other players?

Thanks.

It's beyond me why you would think your suggestion would at all work. 'DefaultEncodingMode' and 'DefaultModeValue' are used to be parsed as parameters to the encoder, x264 (like '--crf 16'). At the "Gathering information" stage nothing is being encoded yet.

If you want a culprit, look for the Avs2avi process RipBot seems to be using: that's a far more likely candidate (or, indirectly, haali or ffdshow versions). But x264, at least, has nothing to do with it.

Q: What does 4.1 profile do over 4.0 and would 4.1 be better for working with HD DVD/Blu Ray discs?
A: According to wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264#Levels) maximum bitrate in 4.0 high profile is limited to 25Mbps. 4.1 is limited to 62.5Mbps. That's all!

Got same probem here. Don`t use 4480 as is in RipBot type 4469MB than you have 1-2 mb free space left on your 4.7 GB dvd to record sub and some small files if you need :)

I only use RipBot264 to calculate encoding bitrates, owing to its usually reliable estimator, but lately I've noticed that it doesn't work very well at all if I include an audiotrack such as DTS@1510kbps. I've assumed that bitrate is not included in Atak's calcs perhaps, since he doesn't use it at all himself afaict.

In any case what audiotrack type did you use when you got the oversize?

Big thanks for your try!!

No problem. I have that issue in previous version. I was trying this and it have worked. I've wrote "2 Pass" and it was given that issue instead of "2-Pass".

The last issue i have tried is to installed the 3 softwares requirement in a order.

Try this:
- Uninstall everything.
- Reboot

Install softwares in that order:
1. Avisynth 2.5.8 stable version;
2. Haali Mastroska (recommanded version from Atak_Snajperaè
3. FFDSHOW (clsid rev) *latest*
4. Installation Ripbot in the c:\ripbot264\*.*

5. Configure ffdshow video; VC-1 config to WMV9.

Reboot, and try!

Give me some news again.

Thanks.

That was only a AC3 640kbps track. Nothing special to miscalculate. Had to dowgrade it to 448kbps later to fit on one layer without reencoding the whole thing again.

At the moment I suspect problem with accuracy in x264 encoder. Last night I encoded BD Avatar -> AVCHD (720p, AC3 640kbps). Calculated bitrate was 2966 kbps but I got 2973 kbps! So instead of <4480 i got 4483MB!

I encounter the same oversizing problems since I upgraded from r1352 to r1583 in AVCHDCoder. I don't get many oversizing reports. Only a few. Mostly somewhere between 2 and 8 MB oversizing.

Well, FWIW in my case I was not referring to x264 not matching the desired bitrate; it has hit-or-been-slightly-less for me always. I was instead referring to the final muxxed output from tsMuxeR.

It seems that RipBot's calculator chooses a too-high bitrate for x264 to use, if including a DTS@1510 audiotrack (COPY STREAM).

How long should the "please wait.... initializing" take to end when you begin an encode on average? Its been sat there for around 30 mins now. Running Win 7 64bit, 2.66 Quad Core...

Modify script
video=DirectShowSource("C:\Users\Dawid\Desktop\Naruto_Shippuuden_91_[480p][SAMPLE].mp4",audio=false,fps=23.976).ConvertToYV12()

or remux mp4 to mkv with forced 24000/1001 fps

I really don't understand WHY people encode to VFR???? for god sake!!

what do you mean or could you explain how to use x264 instead of vfr!

Why don't you create your own strict Blu-Ray profile?

I did but there are some hard coded x264 parameters that I have to change every time - like

"--keyint 240 --min-keyint 24"

whereas I prefer "--keyint 24 --min-keyint 2"

Thanks.

Once again I encoded Avatar but this time I used DTS-Core 1510kbps. Resulted size was 4479,5 MB.I have ended up with 2 oversized encodes (locked to DVD5). Both with COPY STREAM for audio and they were about 3-5mb too big.

I don't think it has to do with DTS-core or not because one of my two oversized encodes used AC3 640kbps.

Could it be the version of the x264 encoder? While this is sorted out I keep a margin or 10mb just to be safe. Thanks.

Hi Atak ,

I'm encoding at least 2 files / day , and regarding the audio files , when select a DTS file to be encoded , the result will be - each time - an AC3..
Only ONE time a DTS file encoded and resulted a DTS encoded files and I didn't understand WHY ???

Which is the trick or the..secret ???
It requires different setings ???
The original DTS files should have special caracteristics to be encoded and resulted as ...DTS too ???

It's right under the audiotrack selection, as one of the options in the Profile drop-down. If you don't see such a thing then maybe your audio is corrupt or something.

Another thing to consider... I believe that you cannot "xx copy stream" if you're creating an MP4. I know that was true in older versions, but am not sure about the 1.6 releases.

I didn't get any sleep last night and, perhaps I'm just feeling grumpy today, but your 'clever' avatar is really irritating to those like myself who look for responses from Atak_Snajpera. I gotta tell you that simply because of your avatar, I certainly would not help you if I were him.

Regarding my NEW avatar , it's true : you'r sleepy and grumpy , nobody ask your opinion concerning this avatar , so pls , continue to talk to walls !!!! :)

If you are using BD-R media where space isn't an issue from most .mkv files is it possible for ripbot to detect if the .mkv needs to be re-encoded to be compatible with blu-ray players and if it doesn't then just output to the AVCHD file structure without re-encoding?

if you are using bd-r media you want to use bluray structure not AVCHD structure (there are hardly any differences but the things that are different seem to be of significance). and I don't know about you but I like to keep the original HD audio on mine. currently you can't do that through ripbot. you can only copy the PCM/decoded track (which takes up more space than DTS or TrueHD). I don't know why your source is mkv though http://i45.tinypic.com/hwdcli.gif but at mkv you usually need to be around 19GB to fit a BD25 (I assume you mean 25 as there wouldn't be any guessing or question of fitting if it were a BD50)

I think it might extract the core if you demux the dts track or something. I remember it doing it under some circumstances. but the best solution is just to use something like tsmuxer and demux the core, then don't choose an audio track in the first stream selection screen. after it's setup the video part just browse for your demuxed DTS.

to solve my problem ???

The option you want is NOT available for what ever reason. So you must adapt and use the tools suggested to get the result that you are looking for.

RipBot264 is only a GUI front end for a mass of tools that work just fine independently.
If the GUI doesn't support what you want. You can ask the author to support it as a feature.
If he says no. Then you can always use the tools independently to accomplish what you need.

A question was asked about multiple audio tracks a few versions ago. The author did not want it as a feature so it was never added.
As dismayed as it made the person(s) that wanted it as a feature; they respected that the author of the program did not want that as part of his program.

Now it may be that this will be supported in future versions, but the chances are slim. If you want more options there are only two ways you can you can go about getting them.

(1.) Use the tools independently to yield the result you want.
OR
(2.) Use a different GUI front end that will support what you need like MeGUI.

Any chance of getting the option to stream copy the video and only encode the audio? I have a lot of TV shows that already have the proper video encoding on them and just want to down mix the audio so I can stick it on my iPad. Try using a program like PopcornMKV which will allow you to alter the audio track in an MKV without touching the video. Here is a writeup I did (It is from last year so apologies if it is outdated)

I reverted back to 3.4 and muxed again. With the old version the flag is set successfully.

This problem attracted my attention when playing with VLC where no subs were displayed since using using RipBot 1.16.1.

Bug with mkvtoolnix or some feature I don't know of?

Thanks for the hint. mkvmerge does not write values into the mkv header that are default anyway. So, is it a sole problem with the various media players that rely on the old behavior and did not handle the default values although specified by mkv?

could you please give me your address. I just want to send a pressentbasket.
Just want to say it worked!!! Great thanks for that. I can't imagine why the order of installation was that important. Again, thanks for that and have a nice day!

I Really dont know. I've give that information to atak and atak was testing to install in every order. But personally i was using an french windows 7 genuine. Before i was in 120 days trial of windows 7. It's make me that issue more than 1 year. could that order can be an issued about windows version language?

I could'nt told you why it's make this and how i think to try this, but it worked. I saved that file into my bluray program folder so if i have that issue again,...

Great to help you with this.

For my email address, used the "PM" and send me an email and i will reply to it.

How long should the "please wait.... initializing" take to end when you begin an encode on average? Its been sat there for around 30 mins now. Running Win 7 64bit, 2.66 Quad Core...

Not supposed to take that long. 2-3 minutes max depending on the computer speed, hard disk speed, etc.

Well that's about perfect isn't it.

Thanks for reviewing this question. I'll look for my problem elsewhere... :)

Personnally i was having the issue that if i set 4480 for DTS audio tracks, all the time the output projects are too large to burn it on a 4,7GB. i was set an 4425 MB size to fit them on a dvd5 and 8125 for DVD9 size. I should try again if that issue is not corrected in newer version. Since 1.10.X i was having that issue with all DTS audio tracks. If i was using AC3, sizing to DVD5 and DVD9 is correct.

But I can't add this .VC1 file to RipBot (RipBot264v1.15.1) because it is not listed as the supported file...

What should I do?

Please advise me if You use the RipBot and You managed to pass this step with vc1 files

(i just started new topic about this in general discusion ;/)

1. -- Did you tried this:

- Demux manually with TsMuxerGUI.exe;
or
- Restart the project again?

-- Did the manual demuxing has worked?

Also here some things to done:
- Install latest version of Ripbot264 (Please give you version # when posting a issue)
- Install newer version of ffdshow tryout (clsid revision) more than 34XX
- Post an MediaInfo code source of the source file "Download MediaInfo here: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en "

Hi 8ternity, thanks for supporting.

Yes, I have tried redoing the project, it's an issue I have for some months, when prior to the last windows XP reinstallation worked well. That's why I dont doubt it should work well and the problem is in some part of Ripbot external applications like ffdshow, avisynth... don't know.

Ts muxer reports error when open these kind of files, I guess it is because it is not an mkv or ts, instead it is an .avi

If I pick the same file compressed with autogk, which is xvid video and mp3 audio, ripbot works fine. It has to be something related to the monochannel PCM audio track. In previous posts I showed what mediainfo logs from the audio track:

Audio
Format : PCM
Format settings, Endianness : Little
Format settings, Sign : Unsigned
Codec ID : 1
Codec ID/Hint : Microsoft
Duration : 1s 700ms
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 705.6 Kbps

Resolution : 16 bits
Stream size : 146 KiB (5%)
Interleave, duration : 46 ms (1.38 video frame)

I'm using 1.16.1 and ffdshow recently uninstalled and reinstalled with version ffdshow_rev3476_20100615_clsid

Which brings me back to a question which I believe has been asked many times (and probably been equally ignored, lol); but why does Ripbot always insist on remuxing the entire input file to a mkv? x264 doesn't need it (it will just take whatever DirectShowSource or FFVideoSource is willing to parse via AviSynth). So, why not make it optional to allow direct usage of the input file people specify? (like an m2ts elsewhere on disk). Would save so much excess disk-thrashing!

Atak_Snajpera

Movies are often divided in multiple .m2ts files. eac3to is able to find correct order and merge them in one easy to encode .mkv. So as you can see it is faster to just select .m2ts directly.

I also have the same problem with videos produced by Canon cameras, the problem is that stupid audio track.

Need some help with black lead in.

I have a DVD(purchased recently) main movie rip of Twilight Saga New Moon. I used StaxRip to do an Xvid backup of the movie and found out the audio was way out of sync. Black lead in was causing it to be out of sync. I used DGIndex to demux the audio and saved the corrected audio and .d2v file, and then I copied and replaced the audio and .d2v file in the StaxRip temp folder. A/V were in sync, and the movie played good.

Tried to do the same thing with RipBot by copying and replacing the corrected audio and .d2v file, but I can't get it to work. When I use the preview script function within RipBot, all I see I is a reddish looking bunch of junk lol.

How can I make it work? Thanks for the help!

Atak,

I am currently encoding for my new iPad. A couple of the programs/GUI's I have allow me to boost audio volume while converting the DTS/AC3 to LC AAC. I see the normalize drop-down you have (100% or 200%).

Question..is that a true normalize in the sense that it is a compressor...or is it a audio boost setting that just increases volume, keeping same dynamic range?
If so, 100% would be no boost?...Also, user can not adjust those values from your two presets.

Could a volume boost feature be implemented?

Thanks

Did you try to select .vob in ripbot264 instead of .d2v?

Hi,

I just processed all the vobs with RipBot normally, and then I directly used DGIndex to fix the the black lead in, and then took the DGIndex saved audio and .d2v file and copy and replaced what was in the RipBot temp folder. And yes I did follow the RipBot file naming such as job1.d2v. Doing the above worked with StaxRip doing an Xvid encode.

@neuron

Yes, I was skipping GOPS. And it worked wonderfully. Thanks! I don't even know what GOPS is lol. I just followed the directions for the fix when I was notified by the popup about the audio being abnormal(662752ms). And then after the fix the audio was -243ms which solved my A/V sync problem using StaxRip for the Xvid encode.

I am new at encoding, so hopefully I provided enough information. Thanks for all the help!

Normalize 100% increases volume to safe maximum volume (dynamic range is preserved). Everything above is not recommended because it causes distortion in sound. 200% was only added for PSP users because internal speakers are very weak.

Hey Atak!

Would appriciate support for ÅÄÖ and dots in the output file name.
I wrote about this issue a while back but since i didn't get a heads up on the issue so i bump it.

Another issue that has come up is that some bluray's dont have a language speciefied for the subs (Two so far of 37 ripped bluray's) it would be great if there where a preview option available so you don't need a third party app for checking the language of the sub.

Other than that i'm happy with this great gui the only thing that would be more awesome is a copy of the source code but i understand why you keep that to yourself :)

Cheers Trayman

This post is in reference to my my first post(#8107) about black lead in.

Preliminary results suggests that I finally got the A/V sync issue caused by black lead in fixed. A/V sync looks good now when using the RipBot preview script.

Here is what I did. I used Ripbot normally to process the vobs. Then I used DGIndex to skip GOPS and fix the black lead in. Saved the .d2v file and then renamed it to job1.d2v, and then copied and replaced to the RipBot temp folder. Did not edit any AVISynth scripts.

I have the video encoding now. Don't know what is going to happen when the streams get remuxed. Fingers crossed!

Edit: Did not work. Audio is way out of sync. I am guessing that I will have to edit an AviSynth script to get it to work with RipBot, but I don't know how to do it. Simple copy and replace will not work using DGIndex to skip GOPS, and then use the demuxed audio and .d2v file.

Did you check audio sync in preview? You can also adjust audio delay manually in RipBot264.

Yes I tried to adjust the audio delay manually in RipBot to -250ms. Still way out of sync because of the black lead in.

Success finally! Here is all the steps I had to do the get the black lead in to work. I do have a headache lol.

1. Processed the vobs with RipBot normally, and set a manual crop, custom resize, chose .mkv file container, and the audio was copy stream.

2. Clicked Done. And it was in que but not started yet.

3. Used DGIndex to make project and saved the audio and .d2v file and renamed to job1. GOPS were skipped.

4. Copied and replaced the job1.d2v in the RipBot temp folder. Then I just copied over the other job1 audio file. I had both of the ac3 audio streams in the RipBot temp folder. Difference between the audio streams were: One had a delay of 662752 and the other had -243ms delay. The -243ms stream was the one that was GOPS corrected with DGIndex.

5. Edited job1 AviSynth script. Deleted the delay of 662752 and replaced with -243 and then saved it. That was the only change.

6. Edited job1 Configuration Settings. Same change as #5 above.

7. Edited job1_MuxFiles batch. Same change as #5 and #6.

8. Closed the temp folder, and clicked start to encode the video. Finally, A/V was in sync.

I wish it were possible to make it easier, but that's the only way I got it to work.

Yes I think I did understand you to the best of my knowledge, but I need to add something else.

When I used the preview script within RipBot the A/V were in sync. But what I think is happening is that once it is loaded to que the original processed ac3 audio stream is being used in the job1 AviSyth script, configuration settings, and the job1_ MuxFiles batch which is normal. That's the reason I had to do the edits.

Hopefully, I have provided enough of information.

Hello,

Strange thing just starting happening when using RipBot v1.16.1. Have encoded hundreds of movies w/out too many issues. After getting updates for Windows 7 x64 Ultimate the other day & restarting, I immediately get an error once a job is loaded & I hit the Start button. I immediately get: avs2yuv.exe has stopped working
I rolled back the updates & restarted but I'm still get that error. I went back to try files that I already encoded w/out a problem & I still get the error. I tried older versions of RipBot & still get the error. Just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else & to try to figure out where the problem is so I can correct it. I love this program & not being able to use this for 24 hours is really annoying

What's audio duration reported in ripbot

OK, I re-installed RB in case there was an issue. I then re-added the MKV as I didn't notice the audio length before. Audio is correctly being reported. But now, it just sits there initializing and not starting the encode!

As for the bitrate, I've no idea. All I told RB to do is a 2-pass encode, fit to HD res and DL DVD size.

Edit: OK, looks like the initaliaztion issue is due to me changing the output path or the location of RipBot? Does it store settings in the registry?

I tried to convert anime with Ripbot and it still does not work.

1-- Ive tried editing the script to 23.976 like you told me to it didn't work.
2-- Decimate it didn't work.
3-- Assume FPS it didn't work.
4-- Inverse Telecine it didn't work.
5-- Convert FPS it didn't work.

Would you mind encoding it!

i searched this thread, and saw versions of this question asked, but never found a solid answer. is it possible to encode to 720p without black bars?

i notice the black bars on fixed on the outputted file, making it exactly 1280x720. what if you don't want black bars at all? for example, i was converting a 1080p movie rip that i calculated to be a 1280x544 image (without black bars) when 720p. i selected the high profile (4.0) then under properties i go to "do not crop" and "size = custom (x,xx:1)" and i input 1280x544.

the resulting file just squishes the picture and makes the black bars larger, instead of just encoding the video stream itself down to 1280x544, without black bars. what am i doing wrong?

does ripbot add the black bars just to make it easier to encode for the user as i've read in previous posts, or is there some benefit to the monitor/screen to have it perfectly 1280x720 already? i just know if i'm watching something in windowed mode on my laptop, i'd rather not have the black bars, they take up extra space that's unnecessary.

side question:
ripbot 1.16.0 & 1.16.1 won't take my demuxed .264 video files, nothing happens when i load them, i have to use 1.15.1 to encode HD stuff, but 1.16.0&1 take my .vob files just fine. any ideas?

Man i can't figure out my subtitle problem

I had as issue with Avatar and now 2012 , do i need to install anything else other then ripbot to get the subtitles to burn in.

I select build in picture and then select the subtitle in the temp folder but it never seems to work for me.

i have java so that is not an issue
It would help if you actually said what kind of subtitles you're trying to add.

Check your job's AVS file, and see whether it contains something like:

LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\VSFilter\VSFilter.dll")
video=TextSub(video,"C:\video\mysub.ass")

Also, java?? Are you trying to use actual .SUP files, by any chance? Then you need to install the SupTitle plugin; like:

LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\SupTitle.dll")

video=FFVideoSource("M:\jobs\akira.mkv").ConvertToYV12()
video=SupTitle(video, "M:\jobs\akira_exp.sup", forcedOnly=false, swapCbCr=false, relocate=true, relocOffset="0,0,0,0")

return video

N.B. I always run my .SUP files through BDSup2Sub first, and export to a new SUP file (you'd be surprised how many errors a .SUP file contains on average).

I require proof of this improbable claim. you should try doing same exact encode twice (once normal, once admin). same pc uptime, same programs running etc

Hi Atak, thank you so much for this wonderful app!

I got a question though: It appears that +/- keys are disabled in the preview mode, is there a way to enable them so i can detect the amount of audio delay much easier? If it's not possible it'll be much appreciated if you could enable this feature.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and have a great time!

Quick question, I have a Blu Ray disc of a TV show (6 episodes on the disc). When ripbot analyzes the the disc it shows me three playlists. The 1st playlist is of the entire 6 episodes grouped together. The 2nd and 3rd playlist are of Episode #1 and #2. Any idea why a playlist is not showing for episode #3-6?

EDIT: OK, did a little more digging, I am wondering if it is a bug with eac3to? Using Clown_BD I only see the three playlists as well, but if I use MakeMKV I can see all 7 playlists (1 master playlist and 6 episode playlists). The other option I was thinking was to use MakeMKV to get an mkv of each episode, and then run the episode mkv through Ripbot

Copy the m2ts file direct on c:, an name it test.mts. In most cases audio can´t be detected by mkvtoolnix cause of file and/or folder names like "d:\ööö$$$download$$$ööö\***blabla.mkv".

While your solution works and allows the file to be detected correctly, it doesn't allow me to create a 2-pass encode due to the missing playlist. I'm trying to hit a target size to burn.

@ Atak- Hey man, I really hope you can help me.. I have done 75 plus blu ray encodes with your program with no issues until now...

Here is my issue: I start an encode (it doesn't matter if I select 2 pass or quality (CBR)) and use all of the default settings.. I select an M2ts file (have also tried MKV) with AC3 Aften audio (the audio I always use (640kbps)). The streams demux .. Everything goes great.. The program starts encoding (lets say CBR 18 setting) .. It gives me a 2 hour time that it is going to be finished encoding in.. Keep in mind that I have a i5 750 quad core.. It is fast.. but cannot encode a constant quality blu ray movie like "Avatar" (yes, I own the Blu ray as well) in 2 hours or less.. So I let Ripbot do the encoding process.. The time ends up going up to about what it should be .. around 7-8 hours to complete. After the file is completed.. It gives me a different file size each time.. Some times it is a small Kilobyte file and some times it is a small Megabyte file that obviously doesn't work.. The file size should be a few Gigabytes at least .. So obviously something has gone wrong with my ripbot264..

Things I have tried doing:

I have uninstalled all ripbot plugins, ripbot itself, windows 7, etc.. Reinstalled all to the latest versions.. and I have tried older versions as well.. When I reinstalled Windows 7 again fresh, I even deleted my hard drive completely and made a brand new partition. After all of this I'm still getting the same issue.. Remember that I have successfully encoded 75+ movies perfectly in your program and I'm just all of a sudden having problems.. I figured something was up with my computer so I tried Megui and I can successfully encode a full blu ray no problems..

I have also looked at the log file when ripbot is running and it will display a completely different time that the encode will be completed than the actual ripbot and they will always remain different .. For instance: Ripbot will state that the movie has 2 hours remaining and the log in the cmd window will state that it has 18 hours remaining and then will just shoot up in the cmd window..

PLEASE help me man! I really want to get ripbot working again..

Thanks!!!!!

I noticed eac3to cannot read avs files, would it be useful for you if it could, how are you currently processing audio? I consider making a feature request eac3to reading avs, if a couple of GUI authors support this request it has a better chance for being successful.

hi atak,

i'm giving your program a whirl after getting a but frustrated with megui (feeling like its using a shotgun to kill a fly).

anyway, is there a way i can change the default settings to be 2pass ~1meg, enable resize etc, ala megui's one-click profiles?

i'm converting 1080i and 720p hdtv caps to 624x352@1meg or 960x540@2meg sorta like standard scene rips.

edit: maybe this is covered in help documentation that i cant find?

Yup, importing from untouched BD-structure (ripped to hard drive using AnyDVD). Letting RipBot find the correct files/playlists (as usual). Here are the txt files: http://www.mediafire.com/file/otjmkljdjjtynmi/job1_txt_files.zip

Well, it's almost 500MB, so it'll be a while until it's uploaded. Had to split the zipfile containing the structure to be able to upload it to mediafire, hope that's not a problem.

@Atak;

I have a suggestion for the program.

Did you can add a line on the top of movie and audio with the current size of original file, or the video and audio file size so i can save time to open a explorer, get the source size and set the DVD5 or DVD9 ?

Let me know if its a constructive suggestion for you and if it can be added in the program.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/hujn1tlkz3mynv2/DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip_1
http://www.mediafire.com/file/n1zmqnzzllztzkz/DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip_2

That's a copy of the BD structure, with m2ts files clipped/trimmed to 20MB, everything zipped, then the zipfile split into 3 pieces to allow for mediafire's 200MB cap.

I zipped the whole structure, then I split the zipfile using DGSplit into three pieces. Should just be able to paste the three segments together into a valid zip file (for example: copy DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip_0 /b + DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip_1 /b + DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip_2 /b DOWNFALL_CLIPPED.zip /b).

Hello – I have been using RipBot for awhile now with very few issues, great prog btw - thanks Atak. I do have two questions though.
1 – Is it recommended to update the various tools (x264, eac3to, etc.) as they come out with new versions or wait till RipBot includes the updates. Or is it a case of don't fix what’s not broken.
2 – I noted that if I want to encode to 720p, the cropping settings do not stick auto or manual. Is that the norm? I know that including the “black bars” does not eat up much space supposedly, but if I wanted to crop in a 720 encode, how?
Thanks.

I am from Germany and bought the german "Lord of War" - DVD. Know i wanted this movie as a blu-ray and because it never got released in Germany i've ordered it in the United States.

Now i want to load the LOW - Blu-Ray in RipBot264 and add the DVD-Audio-Track to this job. Now my questions:

1. Would it be possible and if yes how can i change the audio-"fps" from 25fps to 23,9... fps? So can i access the "-slowdown"-command from eac3to within the RipBot?

2. I don't want the video-track to be recoded, just copy. I've never seen a function like that. Is there any workaround for just copy the Video-Track and if not it would be a great idea to implement that!

3. Sometimes I love to watch english-speaking movies in it's original language. Is it possible to include 2 audio-tracks with the RipBot? So that I can build this new "Lord Of War - German - Blu-Ray" with two audio-tracks (English and German)?

Would be nice if anyone could help me or if Atak says "multiple languages; audio-resampling and copy tracks will be available soon!"

EDIT:
I've seen that forced subtitles won't be marked as those anymore!!! Why?

Encode the video from bluray to 25fps. Mux this video file and your audio tracks from the DVD to one file with mkvtoolnix (Open mmg.exe under "tools\mkvtoolnix" and just drag&drop the video and audio tracks.)

:thanks:

Thanks but i just want to use RipBot264 on as much steps as possible on this Blu-Ray-Mod and i definitely don't want to change the video-source. I know how to transform 25fps-audio to a 23,93fps-audio with eac3to but it would be great if anyone knows if and how it is possible within RipBot!

Select "m2ts" output. Just the name changed.

I'm afraid that you can't change those settings using RipBot. RipBot was designed from the ground up to be a "simple" GUI. This means that the more advanced options (like changing the audio fps) have been either abstracted away or not even available.

Pretty much everything you want to do cannot be done with RipBot (like changing the audio speed, including more than one audio track, or copying the video track).

Now, before I offer some solutions, what output format do you desire? Do you want another Blu-ray or AVCHD, or would you like a DVD render, or an MP4 or MKV, etc. etc.

Could anyone help me, I'm running the latest version of Ripbot, installed ffdshow manually and I'm still having issues with out of sync audio. I'm on windows 7 pro 64 bit. Ripbot 1.14 seemed to work fine, but some more recent blu ray dvd's seemed to hang and so I got the latest version. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

I used this guide here to set up ffdshow;

http://adubvideo.net/how-to/setup-proper-playback-chain-windows

Is there no way of making the installation of ffdshow automatic?

I've tried BDrebuilder and I get the same if not worse results.

Would really appreciate some help here.

with what source? DVD or BD? lost in sync is constant or progressive? Did you check preview option?

@Adub
thanks for the reply. as you said ripbot is a gui for simply ripping videos and convert them into the 4 kinds of format. but it's a little bit strange! On the one hand it's called "a simple" programm, on the other hand you're aloud to resize the video, change video-fps, crop or denoise the video and even change color-space for the video. So it seems a little bit more as simple. Just copy the video-track or add a second/third audio-track would be MORE simple then these things i've listed above. You can copy the audio-track why not video?

What i want to do:
1. RIP and demux my bought Blu-Ray to HDD
2. Demux the DVD of the same movie to Disk (because it includes german subtitles and audio-track)
3. Combine BD-Video-Track, BD-Audio-Track (english DTS-5.1), BD-Subtitles (english), DVD-Audio-Track (german DTS-5.1) and DVD-Subtitles (german)

Problem is that the DVD-Stuff has 25fps and BD-Stuff has 23,937fps. So before combining i want to change subtitles and audio-fps (eac3to-command "-slowdown") of the DVD. The Video has to be completely original.

Reason for that: The "Lord Of War" - Blu-Ray was never released in germany, only DVD, and i want a german BLU-RAY of this movie! I've bought both and i don't want to download an illegal rebuild!

For now i think i'll do it that way "Stasi" explained. Get the Video- and Audio-Track RipBot produced; slow down the DVD-Audio / -Subtitles and merge them with mkvtoolnix.

BD ripped with anydvd. It's out of sync before I've even converted (playback with latest vlc media player), so I have a feeling I'm messed up some setting with ffdshow video/audio decoding. :/

you realize that by changing framerates you aren't ruining the video in anyway, it just makes it 'faster'. all the content and quality is still there.

personally I'd just use eac3to by itself if absolutely necessary to change the audio framerate.
And subtitle workshop to change the subtitle framerate

Anyone notice a big difference in the filesize of the output, compared to the older versions? I went from 1.14.x to 1.16.1, and I notice the output is much smaller. Take the movie info below for instance. At the same quality (CQ18), the size went from 17.9 GB to 13 GB. Pretty sure the profiles were the same too. Audio the same.

I saw the vast difference in version 2.4.2 -> 4.0.0... But I didn't see anything on the MKVtoolnix site about efficiency improvements.

So... Is it encoding much more efficiently now, like 25% or so, or is it simply dropping the bitrate for the same quality setting?

you will have to compare both movies with your own eyes.
