Hello,
after reading an articel of tomshardware about playing hd dvd on a pc with x1600 and pentium d805 on an analogue monitor
I bought a hd-dvd rom.
http://unterhaltung.thgweb.de/2007/02/26...m_pc/page6.html
On my System:
Win XP SP2
AMD X2 3800+
1GB memory
Ati X1900
Power DVD 7.3
Xbox USB HD-DVD
Cat 7.1 (declared HD content compatible)
VGA XGA Display
the hd dvd playback does not even start with PowerDVD Deluxe 7.3 (HD DVD compatible).
CYberlinks BD / HD DVD Advisor tolds that the drivers are not compatible.
CAn somebod help me with this problem.

I guess Cyberlink doesn't want to play BD/HDDVD unless you're using a graphics card and digital monitor connection with HDCP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDCP) support...
np: Lusine - Flat (Dimbiman ft. Cabanne Remix) (Podgelism)

I am afraid that is not the truth:

Version in that screenshot: 1.0.1206, from 2/26/07
Version now: 1.0.1801.
What was true then probably isn't true now, with how many updates they've put out, especially since they've tightened up security considerably after the AACS cracks. The site is pretty clear; you must have HDCP or else you must use VGA, since you have the latter, that should be enough.
Try updating to cat 7.5? Or try opening a trouble ticket with AMD and/or the maker of your card.

I get it working with BD advisor with CAT 7.6 and analogue vga output, everything is blinking green for total (theorethical) hd dvd pleasure
But pratically I have to use AnieDVD (you know what i mean) to play hd dvds or the hole hd dvd contents (ripped with dvdfab decrypter).
SO my original problem is trickyly fixed.
But another Problem came up now:
The Video playback (from disc or ripped HD content) is not smooth:
My system is
Win XP SP2
AMD X2 3800+
1GB memory
Ati X1900
Power DVD 7.3
Xbox USB HD-DVD
Cat 7.6 (declared HD content compatible)
VGA XGA Display
The cpu usage is almost 100% in the problem scenes which are horizontal moves.
Ati HW acceleration is not available during hd dvd playback.
Are there any tweaks that you are using?
What are your systems (CPU ?) that are playing hd dvd ?

Cannot enable HW acceleration on x1900?

Cannot enable HW acceleration on x1900?
Yes but only when a HD DVD is playing.
