I read the TSCV guide and from what I see I can tell (since the import from ChapterExtractor doesn't seem to work) that MovieFactory definitely is the easier way to go (with apparently all the same features). Plus you can get the thumbnails off the actual movie and don't need VFAPI.
This just doesn't seem to be quite there yet.

It's pretty cheap, though. $45,- It comes with an encoder (haven't tried), nicely integrated, my bet would be it is LSX). It also includes a burner.
They have a free trial download.
It is pretty much what I bought a while ago as a plugin for Mediastudio Pro, the DVD Export.
There is no better deal than this on the market, AFAIK.
I think I mentioned this before - If there was some way to feed a chapter list into it (you have to select with slider or type in the timecode) I wouldn't use anything else.
Download the trial.
(I am not affiliated with them)

I just download it...It is CRAP!!! You can not make chapters, No moving menus, every mpeg (s/vcd) is taken as 29.97 fps. I am going back with TSCV with VCDImager 7.12 that can handle mpeg files with subtitles...

and I didn't say the chapterxtractor import didn't work period.. just that I couldn't figure out how it works.. and most ppl rip with smartripper anyways and the prog can handle SR chapterfiles.

i hate that codec.
It fails to let svcd movies expand on my monitor. !!!!!! It is way too contolling.
I guess I am still upset at allt he trouble it caused me. i had to recap a lot of data because it lead me to belive i ahd to set my caps up differently for svcd. This was not true and many people here had to help me with aspect ratios and svcd encoding. It was a complete nightmare,
I warn anyone that installs ulead, check your encodes on a h+ card or stand alone for aspect ratio and size. Do not depend on what you see on your monitor, it will be wrong.

It won't do moving menus. Unfortunately the moving menus that TSCV generates do not (yet) work very well on my standalone.
For ease of use I find it very compelling.
As for the chapters - I find its approach works better than hard chapters. But that may be a matter of taste. Plus nobody stops you from adding the chapters on top.
Don't forget - it also masters DVDs ...
But I just threw it into the picture. If you don't like it, don't use it.

Maybe for DVD works well, and is cheap...
But for SVCD it doesn,t. I encode SVCD's as Filn NSTC (23.97 fps) and it doesn't recognize it. SVCD created with this authoring program do not run smoothly (Maybe because it is forcing the frame rate from 23.976 to 29.97 fps). Also subtitles (included in my MPEG )doesn't appears in my standalong player. And how can I make chapters with this tool without spliting my mpeg files?
For SVCD it is very important to have an Authoring Tool that can let you create: Moving Menus, Chapters (index), subtitles, 2 languages, and Film framerate. If not what is the idea of making SVCD's?

P.D. Maybe in the full version all this features are included (If "yes" let us know).
