I know this has prob been asked only a thousand times, but I am a clueless noob.....

I noticed that Pans Labyrinth is being broadcast in the UK in HD, but is not available on HD-DVD yet....

My question is what is the source of the HD signal that the broadcasters use, is it an upscaled DVD, or is it a new scan of the film print?

Thanks

HDTV has been around for a very long time, well before HD-DVD Blueray were.
There are several "Pro" media that can handle HD content, though not available for the general public.

I dont really understand....are you saying that this "Pro" media is the content that is supplied to the Sat/Cable companies for broadcast, and is HD?
