Avisynth MPC stuck at 99%

I have used avisynth indirectly for many years. Today I have experienced my first problem. While trying to troubleshoot a DVD-Rebuilder error I found it was related to avisynth. When I try to open any script nothing opens and Media Player Classic gets stuck at 99% usage. The script never opens. For testing I even tried version() and still the same results. Any information? I've tried 2.5.6a, 2.7, and the latest avisynth version but all exhibit the same behavior.

Maybe an auto-loaded plugin/script is mucking things up? I would try temporarily moving .DLL and .AVSI files out of your AviSynth plugins folder, and retesting the script.
