According to Microsoft they do support HD-DVD. Actually, they teamed up with Universal to release titles using VC1 codec and iHD.

Now, there is quite a few things they can use to really help HD-DVD.

1. Include native support for HD-DVD playback in Media Centers. This will increase the demand for HD-DVDROM drives and movies.

2. Make DVR-MS to support VC1 codec (I rather have AVC but VC1 is microsoft). Since DVR-MS is just a container. After DVR-MS is already in VC1 then a simple button to record it on DVD-Rs, DVD Dual Layers or HD-DVDrs as HD-DVD discs. Hence creating 3X DVDs.

I know that they have relased drivers for the Xbox 360 to run under Windows. Vista will recognize it as well after the updates (not like it wasn't hacked already but at least is now official drivers).

I have read that "My Movies V2.3" can playback HD-DVDs ONLY in Media Center but it uses PowerDVD 7.3 to playback. Anybody can confirm this?

This seems to be the second workaround HD-DVD in Media Center aftter this one http://thegreenbutton.com/blogs/mike/archive/2007/01/14/158640.aspx

All am saying it to try to integrate HD-DVDs into Windows either as data or video.
