Hi,
I would like to cut a vob file into smaller pieces (so I can post sample file in avisynth forum). Also how do I convert it to a format that I can manipulate with avisynth scripts?
The reason is I want to improve old super8 films.
Thank you in advance!

For VOBs cutting I use ChopperXP (http://www.inchwest.com/digital-miner.com/software/chopperxp.zip)
For VOBs indexing and feeding it with Avisynth I use this excellent DGMPGDec package (http://neuron2.net/dgmpgdec/dgmpgdec149.zip) by neuron

For posting video samples, you can just use DGIndex to set a range on the timeline and then do 'Save Project and Demux Video'. You'll get an M2V.

thank you for your suggestion.
ps. How large is the standard sample size? I have no clue how much is needed.

The rule is to make it as small as possible while still being large enough to demonstrate your issue. People without good broadband start to balk at about 25-50 Mbytes and larger.
