View Full Version : No Work, Destination, or Write to Disk

Ran a job thru RB Pro. When done there were no Work or Destination folders, no evidence of Work or Destination Contents, and RB log says Error on Write-To-Disk. Check drive/disc.

- This is version 1.26 I loaded from scratch after removing 1.26 update which didn't update properly.
- Encoder HC
- I specified Work directory only as C:\ and Destination only as D:\
- File had MenuShrink run on it. If this negates making this question worthy of answering, OK, just say so. But I suspect the problem lies elsewhere. Maybe I did something else wrong?
- I got a log that seems to me (which may mean very little) to indicate everything went OK up to the write. I can't even retry the write because there is no output.

I'm redo'g it after restoring the Menu but I was just wondering what the heck went on before.

The log is here:

Search your PC for a folder called D2VAVS (it should be C:\D2VAVS). The output files should be in D:\DVDFILES. Maybe also try clicking on Rebuild to see if you can rebuild the project.

The files were created -- otherwise there would have been errors during the encodes (DVD-RB checks the output). If you post your REBUILDER.INI it might help locate them.

hmm, this might be a silly question, but do you actually have ImgBurn installed?

also, why don't you use the AviSynth version that comes with the DVD-RB installer (v2.5.6.0)?

Ah, there they are. Thanks. I was used to seeing them in Work and Destination folders but I didn't create those folders up front so thats what happened I guess. I redid the job last night but I think my recent install of McAfee switched my Windows updater onto automatic as it did an auto-update-and-reboot last night and probably screwed up last night's job. I just fixed that nasty option. Now I can try re-burning the original job which has the advantage of a shrunk menu anyway.

Hi.
Yes, but it wasn't the lastest version which I didn't realize until RB opened it up automatically. I should have mentioned that. I have updated it in the meantime.

I just loaded up v. 1.26 from the email notice I recieved. I thought it would have the latest of everything. Should I do something to get a newer AviSynth--and if so, what would that be?

DVD-RB will not overwrite your current installation of AVISYNTH, it will only install it if it isn't already there -- that is purposeful so it doesn't screw up any other software that may be dependent upon AVISYNTH.

If you want DVD-RB to install it, just remove AVISYNTH just before running the DVD-RB installer. It will recognize that it isn't there and install it for you as part of the package.

Hi jb:
OK. I'll try that. I don't think I have anything else using Avisynth besides RB. Thanks.
