This is the first time Ive used dvd shrink and just wondering if the quality of the dvd after being burned will be noticeably worse. It said for me when backing up 28 days later 53% compression. I haven't burned the disk yet but just wondering on quality differnce.

It depends on many factors.
If the original DVD is well encoded (say: 2-pass VBR), DVD Shrink will bring you optimal output. The quality of this "optimal" output depends then on the length of the movie. 28 Days being a movie under 2h, the quality should be good.
Now, if the original DVD is not well encoded (CBR, or 1-pass VBR), DVD Shrink's output won't be optimal. Here a re-encoding using 2-pass VBR in a separate encoder will yield better results (at the cost of a much longer encoding time). But, again since 28 Days is a movie shorter than 2h, the quality of DVD Shrink should be acceptable.
If you're wondering about the encoding method used for your DVD, check Bitrate Viewer (http://www.tecoltd.com/bitratev.htm)
You can distinguish 1-pass from 2-pass VBR by taking a closer look to the bitrate curve. If you see a strongly varying curve, you have a 2-pass encode. If the curve is mostly calm (more hills than mountains :D), you're in front of a 1-pass encode.
Have fun :)

maybe you can remove additional audio tracks to get better compression.
or remove the entire menu :D

Yeah I got rid of the extra languages and subtitles and for the extras I did custom compression and slide it all the way over to the left, giving the main movie even more. Now that it is burned I looked at both on 2 different tv's at the same time and cant even notice a difference. The extras how ever are very different. The quality of the backup is way worse (Extras) but the movie it self looks exactly like the original.
Side note: I tried the IFOedit tutorial but when It came to the dvdr calculator I couldn't do it because I couldn't figure out what the extra vob's where? the extras of the movie? idk... some help would be great.
