does anyone know if it will affect the times DVD-ROM has when ripping different region DVDs(using smartripper or others)? or only when u wanna play the DVD, it matters?
i know i can make my DVD-rom region free, but since i'm using IEEE1394 and don't wanna take the trouble.
Thx:confused:

firstly, i have to say i didn't use any region-free crack code, crack firmware or dvdge, etc. i just got my region 2 "suede" dvd from UK, tried using smartripper to rip it, without any problem!, then i tried to see if windvd works and if it'll ask to change region code for the dvdrom, Bingle, nothing happens and it's playing like it is in region 1, i went to the property-> region code checking, it's greyed in US region.
I was surprised, the only difference in my setup is that i'm using IEEE1394 to hook up with my pioneer DVDrom, is it because of that that my pioneer becomes region free?
Hope it'll be helpful to those who don't wanna mess up with their dvd firmware but wanna get a region free one.
Maybe someone knows why...please be adviced.
