Does anyone know of image display software like avisynth that I can use for still images so that I can keep only my original photo files but display them with the script modifications I wish each time they are loaded (brightness, contrast, cropping, etc.), i.e. using Windows photo viewer? I don't want to have to display them as video files with avisynth.

Adobe Lightroom is a great product like this for Windows. It's not cheap...
Aperture is another great option on the Mac (Lightroom is available there as well)

Thanks for the info! When reading about Lightroom, I saw a link to Google Picasa, which also reportedly applies changes to original photos each time they are loaded.
The main reason I'm asking about this is for alignment and display of 3-D photos from left/right images without creating separate files. I like StereoPhotoMaker's auto-alignment feature but I wish there was some way to apply that and any other changes to pairs of left-right images each time an alignment file for the images is double-clicked in Windows Explorer (I've been creating an on-demand family photo and video archive which consists of 2d and 3d material.)
