Hi all,
I got a VCD that can be played on a VCD player.. however it cant be played on the PC... the MPEG and VCD folder cant be accessed/opened.

is it due to vcd protection?

how do i bypass it? i want to rip this VCD.

thanks for all help.

VCD has no protection.
Which operating system are you running?

I have heard of a form of vcd "protection" where empty mpegav etc folders are created in the root which are mistaken by windows to be the genuine folders and hence the problem. Use ISOBUSTER (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ISOBuster), ask it to extract the tracks it shows in the right pane. Alternately, expand the directory tree fully in the left pane, you will see the real mpegav etc folders.
Hope this helps:)

Hi!

Is it a commercial VCD?

The reason I ask is, if it's not, perhaps it's not actually a VCD (Possibly a filetype that your VCD player recognizes)...
