If I open a file of any format ffdshow can decode in VLC, or MPC, it looks reddish, and kind of weird, like I set the color control on the TV to 100.
If I keep that instance open, then open another MPC or VLC instance, and play the same video, it looks much better.. faces are skin tone instead of overly red, etc.
I tried setting overlay mixer in MPC, and tried the other output options, but nothing works. I always have to open one instance of something, then another instance of MPC and load the file in, then X the first instance of MPC/VLC if I want to watch something and have it look good. I've messed with video card options and ffdshow options, and have no idea what to try next. Any ideas highly appreciated.
edit: nevermind, I just noticed setting renderless in playback--output does it. I could have sworn I tried that one already. :(
