Hello every one, it's been some time since I've posted hear. Nice to be back.

I've spent a good portion of the day trying to figure out how to make an MP4 file that has subtitle track that automatically plays. From what I've come to understand, this is not possible. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

So now what I'd like to do is have VSFilter (or someother bit of dshow software) automatically load the first subtitle track.

This is all to get forced subtitles to display nicely. If anyone has any advice on automagically playing a subtitle track, or anything else to do with forced subtitles, I'd be glad to here it, thanks.

Did you try to remux your MKV file with latest mmg (included in mkvtoolnix package) and disable "default" flag for all subtitle tracks?
