Any news on the current and (near) future availability of such players?
Thanks,

There's a few things floating about, a lot of the new Hard Drive players seem to support AVC, I don't think high profile or HD though.
The linksys Kiss 1600 looks interesting, slated for June 1st.

Don't know what it supports AVC wise though.

What kind of containers are supported for AVC content?
Is there any talk of Matroska support in a standalone?

KiSS 1600 is supposed to support HP@L4; but we shall see when it arrives.
As for MKV support, no company seems to want to touch it; so it's MP4 for now.

Two of the best options at the moment seem to be the Dvico TViX HD M-5100SH and M-4100SH:

http://www.tvix.co.kr/Eng/products/4100sh.aspx
which are already available and you can find (a very favourable) review here:

As for the Kiss 1600, the (p)reviews on the net are far from excellent, eg:

Are there any other networked, h.264 capable players around?
Cheers
