Hi all,
I've been searching around in the forums and haven't found this topic.
My question is: Which DVD Ripping and Burning product should I purchase?
I've used Rip it 4 me abd loved it and DVD Decryptor.
I recently downloaded and used the $ly $oft products with great success.
Freeware is great but there are times I don't have the opportunity to look for freebies when something doesn't work and I need to make a backup.
Is there anything better than the $ly $oft products I should consider prior to parting with my $$?
If I am breaking any rules I apologize in advance.
Regards;

Hi!
RipIt4Me continues to work presently, so why do you want to spend your money on anything else?

After several faile attempts with Rip it 4 me I downloaded the Sly Soft products and things worked fine.
That's the only reason....
I wouldn't buy if I had the confidence RI4Me would work everytime.

Since it's inception and through this week's new releases, I have used RipIt4Me to successfully rip EVERY DVD in my fairly extensive collection, by using the following very specific sequence:
FIRST open RipIt4Me and select either "Wizard" mode or "One click" mode.
THEN load the DVD
After DVD Decrypter has finished, select "Yes" for "Step 3B" and then "Yes" again for "FixVTS"...
May I ask which specific DVD Titles and Region(s) presented problems to you when using RipIt4Me?
BTW - I continue to use v.1.6.4 of RipIt4Me

Smoke, AnyDVD is really good. Worth the money. Remember there is always the free version of DVDFab Decrypter (http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm).

FabDecrypter / Shrink / IMGBurn / Decrypter / Vobblanker / are all FREE and can backup any movie. fabdecrypter is updated as much as any commercial product outthere. Now you want to spend some money?, BUY anydvd and you will be set. Shrink though slower than most commercial shrinkers has better quality output than most. only recode2 is as good or better.

Thanks for asking.
Two DVDs that come to mind are Catch and Release and Because I said so.
That is when I downloaded the trial versions of ANYDVD and CloneDVD. Both were backed up fine after that.
I kept getting the check for scratched or dirty DVD message and retries didn't work with RI4M.
Since the AnyDVD and CloneDVD worked so good I've not tried RI4M since I downloaded the trial copy.
It has expired which is why I started this thread.
I really like the RI4M product when it worked it was great. I'm trying to get something that I can depend on for backup creation.
I believe I switched to Ver 1.7.xx when Casino Royale gave me problems but I'm not sure.

"Because I Said So", a Universal release has no "special" copy protection and you should have been able to rip it with "any old" ripping software - even the ancient "SmartRipper", had you so chosen.
"Catch and Release" (with Mrs. Ben Affleck aka Jennifer Garner) was a SONY release, but did NOT contain any autorun files. If you used RipIt4Me in EXACTLY the manner I detailed, you should have had no problem ripping it.
As I mentioned before, I continue to use v.1.6.4 (which I personally believe is the last completely stable version). It should be locatable for download with a little effort...
BTW - AnyDVD is a fine product - as is my favorite true one-click program, DVD95CopyPro

AnyDVD is good. AnyDVD HD is even better. I bought the whole bundle.
I am redecrypting all my HD DVDs as we speak w/AnyDVD HD just because it removes all the warnings etc. from the decrypted DVD and then player goes directly to the main movie title.
But it was not the reason why I bought SlySoft bundle.
I was totally impressed by two things:
- they did NOT use any free code from doom9;
- they were able to break new AACS scheme BEFORE they had actual new scheme AACS discs.
Talk about black magic.
