Could someone shed some light on this for me? I do nearly all of my encodes from HD DVD to WMV VC-1 for Xbox 360 playback. How do you handle subtitles for an english movie that may have some scenes in another language (scenes that had english subtitles in the American released theatrical version)? Obviously I would want to keep those scenes subtitled in my encodes but I would not want the entire english movie redundantly subtitled in english. I remember having issues with this back in my early DVD ripping days. What is the method of adding subtitles to a WMV9 encode in the first place (I use wmcmd.vbs)?

Also, I haven't tried yet but can the subpicture .sup file from EVOdemux be opened with a text editor or is it not a text formatted file?

i dont know any tool than muxes softsubs into .wmv (and i even less know whether the xbox handles those)

therefore the only way i assume would be to hardcode the subs on the picture via avisynth :search:
