I have a bunch of multi-gigabyte .avi & mpeg2 files that I want to chop into 650meg chunks so I can store them on cd's.
Anyone know of utilities that will do this and then also be able to recombine the pieces into the original file?

Thanks.

You can find some info in Doom9's Great Guide.
For instance
http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm
and

Do you want the files to be playable in their chopped form? If so, you have to be careful when and how you cut them so as to prevent gaps and other problems. (I assume this is in the aforementioned pages.) If you simply want to archive the files in a non-playable format, RAR compression is nice. Try WinRAR:
