Noob Question

I am a Big fan Of Gknot (Not to be confused with Auto GK) and I have been informed that VISTA Wont let you encode DVD to Xvid with it.

I have looked for posts on this but can’t seem to find anything.

I have VISTA Ultimate ready to go on my PC and want to know if GKnot works the same as on XP or if indeed there is something in VISTA that stops you from encoding.

Thanks In advance

Dan

It works fine on Vista by running GK as admin (right click on GordianKnot.exe file to select "Run as administrator" in Properties...)

Thanks Kurtnoise

And i will be able to rip dvd's and convert as normal.

I wonder where this came from then about not being able to do it in VISTA.

The only problem I had was getting the preview to work. I copied wmplayer.exe to another folder and renamed it to mplayer2.exe and pasted it back in the Windows Media Player program folder.

I thought GKnot won't work anymore since it's not been updated. Does it still work?

Am trying out AutoGK & Vista Ultimate. Right now it's encoding, so far no hang-ups...

it should be a very good idea that GKMod + apps work fully (admin+users) on Vista
