This never happend to me, least not like this. I tryed to backup American Pie 1 DVD, as usual i first ripped it, then demux with DGIndex to get d2v and ac3 files, then encode via MeGUI with x264, and after i encode AC3 to 5.1 AAC with CT AAC, when i mux it to mkv via mkvmerge, desync is showed a little like only few ms in positive. I've started to adding delay on mux, even recompresing audio, but delay 0 is always look closer. Aslo i've tryed with Nero AAC, Lame MP3, but only original AC3 is perfectly synched!

I use ffdshow for both audio and video decoding with haali, aslo other movies have perfect synch. I aslo try to find right delay value with pgcdemux, dvddecrypter, but always is 0. DGIndex Analyse Synch tool give me most frames have 8ms, but that isn't true

can somebody tell me good application for synching?

Hi!

Try using either "AC3Fix" or "AC3Delay"...

BTW, is this fairly old DVD scratched or soiled?

The DVD isn't scratched, and ripped sucessfuly with all apps. I've re rip it with DVDShrink, DVD Fab.
