Apparently, M$ and Nintendo are outselling the PS3 for months now. Sony initially believed that Blu-Ray would survive due to the PS3. Doesn't look like it right now. Combined with the cheaper HD-DVD players through Wal-Mart, Blu-Ray's situation is starting to look interesting.

Slashdot, Ars Technica, and AVSForum are better places to go if you want a flamewar based on speculation and gloating. (Not saying that's what you're trying to incite, but that's what they always become.) And any walmart deal is pure rumor still.

Well, I personally hope one of these formats becomes defacto soon so prices go down and more HD films come out. I hope it's HD-DVD due to the material cost savings and the fact that AACS isn't necessary to make an HD-DVD disc that can play in a standalone. If HD-DVD becomes defacto, I might think about possibly buying an HD Video camera.
