Ok here's the thing when i multiplex with i-author at the end of the movie i have an asynch problem, the a/v is fine for the first half, then it slowly gets worse. When i use any other program there is no aynch problem at all. Any ideas, i need subtitles in my movies so i need i-author. I'm out of ideas so anything would be nice at this point.

Sorry to say it's known issue. Anything over 40 mins will cause async in I-Author's muxer. The solution was a program called MPGXMPS which created an I-Author compatible stream from a bbMPEG MPG file. The only problem for you is the fact you need subtitles so you must use I-Author.

You're just going to have to reduce the time for each stream to 40 minutes or less.

I-Author sucks, but you say you need subtitles... Well for SVCD this can be done without I-Author using submux, and not the one that comes with vobsub. It will create SVCD or CVD(I-Author style) subs. You could use DVD2SVCD to rip your movie and it will do it automagically, or you could do them manually as I have done for a while now. I have described this proccess in a reply to this thread:http://rilanparty.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12268 Why i posted it there, I'm not really sure, but its there...

Oh and if you dont have submux, you can get it from DVD2SVCDs homepage as a seperate link.

Hope that can get you to ditch I-Author:D

I just discovered DVD2SVCD's submux option (Subtitles). That'll give you a sync'd movie *and* subtitles. Do no use I-Author's mixer. It doesn't work right with Pulldown flags. Use MPG2MPS instead (but that unfortunately doesn't support subtitles).

The answer to all your prayers is DVD2SVCD.

yeah for some reason dvd2svcd ALWAYS freezes on me 5 min after it starts. Lets see what happens with the new version of it though.
